Workshop: Breathing Inside and Outside Your Yoga Practice

Did you know that carbon dioxide (CO2), a natural byproduct of breathing, plays a crucial role in your physical and mental well-being? Stress receptiveness is directly linked to your body's ability to regulate CO2. This workshop takes you on a practical, gentle journey through ancient yogic breathing techniques that have been adopted by doctors, psychologists, and even elite athletes, including big-wave surfers. Regardless of your age or experience, these progressive exercises will help you expand your breathing capacity, reduce anxiety, improve focus, and enhance relaxation. By the end of the workshop, you will gain valuable tools to regulate your heart rate, improve sleep, and maintain energy levels.

What to bring: A pen, paper, watch (or phone in airplane mode), and a yoga mat.

7:30 AM - 9:00 AM | Master Sequence

This unique sequence was developed to support students practicing the Primary and early Second Series of Ashtanga. It provides a fun and dynamic approach to refining techniques while breaking through movement conditioning. It’s a workshop designed to deepen your practice by enhancing strength, flexibility, balance, and focus—all while incorporating breath and concentration techniques.

9:00 AM - 9:30 AM | Break

9:30 AM - 10:45 AM | Philosophy Workshop: Exploring Tradition

* The three dimensions beyond the self (Brahman, Purusha, Prakriti)

* The Gunas and their influence

* The Four Eras

* The Caste System

* The Signs of Time
